Our research advances fundamental understanding and scalable control of the transport and transformation of energy and mass through integrated approaches in thermal science, advanced manufacturing, and materials engineering.

We investigate how thermal radiation, reactive flows, and surface reactions interact with structured materials across multiple length scales, from nanoscale interfaces to system-level architectures, and how these interactions can be deliberately engineered through scalable manufacturing strategies and structural design. By combining experimental investigation with mechanistic insight, we develop material platforms that bridge fundamental physics and chemistry with deployable technologies.

Applications of our research span radiative thermal management, smart and adaptive textiles, flame-based nanomanufacturing, quantum diamond materials, and electrochemical methane conversion.
